The purpose of this study was to examine the management of production, costs and returns of the cultivators who plant sweet corn and purple waxy corn in Tambon Thung Pong Amphoe Ubonrat Changwat Khon Kaen. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from farmers who plant sweet corn 15 household and who plant purple waxy corn 14 household. The results showed that most of the cultivators who planted sweet corn were mostly female. The average age was 56.06 years. All had primary level of education. The main occupation is rice farmer. These cultivators had their own land about 11-20 rai. The average farm income they had got was 95,333 baht. They had experience on planting the corn for 5 years. The average cultivated area that they used for planting sweet corn was 1.5 rai. In terms of the production management, the study found that type of soil that cultivators used for planting sweet corn was sandy loam. Farmers chose to plant WAN1351 cultivar. Most of sweet corn was in twin row planting. For watering the sweet corn, they used water in public canal. They applied fertilizer for 3 times with 46-0-0 fertilizer mainly. Weed removal was included in the production as well. Regarding cost and benefit analysis, the average total cost of sweet corn was 5,118 baht/rai. The average productivity was 1,072.40 kg/rai. The average cost was 4.77 baht/kg. The average selling price was 4.09 baht/kg. The total income was 4,386 baht/rai. The net income was -731 baht/rai. The income over cash cost was 1,921 baht/rai. The cultivators who planted purple waxy corn were female. Their average age was 53.50 years. Their highest education was primary level. They owned their land about 21-30 rai. The average farm income they had got was 64,535 baht. These cultivators had 5 years in experience about growing the corn. The average of cultivated area that used for planting purple waxy corn was 0.53 rai. The purple waxy corn production management was found that type of soil that cultivators used for planting was sandy loam. The purple glutinous corn was selected to plant. Most of purple waxy corn was planted in single row. The purple waxy corn was watered only by rain. Fertilizer ware applied for 3 times with 46-0-0 fertilizer mainly. Weed removal was included in the production. The result of cost and return analysis of the purple waxy corn production found that the total cost was 6,681 baht/rai. The average productivity was 487.10 kg/rai. The average cost was 13.71 baht/kg. The average selling price was 6.29 baht/kg. The total income was 3,063 baht/rai. The net income was -3,617 baht/rai. The income over cash cost was 1,516 baht/rai.
