Dysphagia is a common complication of stroke, but estimates of its frequency vary considerably. It is an important cause of pneumonia within the first days after stroke. Hence, in this study, we aimed to compare the effects of the individualized rehabilitation programs on the recovery of swallowing and eating. This quasi-experimental study was recruited 35 patients with stroke for data collection at pre-posttest and follow-up with Standardized Swallowing Assessment, Glasgow coma scale (GCS), assessment of swallowing and eating ability. Statistical analysis was performed using the Paired t-test, Wilcoxon Match paired Sign Rank Test andFriedman test. After the treatment, the patients showed a significant improvement in the swallowing function (P-value<0.001) and eating ability (P-value<0.001) than that pre-test. Furthermore, stroke patients had aspiration in first meal 20% and they not had had aspiration since fourth meal. The findings of present study showed evidence that the efficacy of rehabilitation interventions to reduce the complication of stroke.
