As a kind of research and development, this research aimed at creating a model for development of a life quality based on the four virtues wheeling to success on the part of the aged residents of the central region of the North-east. The objectives were: 1) to develop a model of a life quality based on the four virtues wheeling to success (Cakkas) as related to the aged residents of the central region of the North-east, and 2) to test the developed model with the collected information. The Delphi techniques were brought into practice in the process of implementing the research, The its samples were totally 120 persons, who were the aged attending the school for the aged of Roi-Et Province. The tools used for collecting the data comprised the focus group discussion, open-ended questionnaire, five-rating scale questionnaire and the observation form.
The research results were as follows:
The model for development of a life quality based on the four virtues wheeling to success (four Cakkas) on the part of senior citizens of the central region of the North-east encompassed nineteen activities that could be classified into each of four Cakkas as follows: 1. Patirûpadesavãsa (Residing in the good surroundings), the first virtue of four Cakkas), consisted of six activities : (1) Survey and assessment of
basic needs, (2) Taking rest, (3) Hobby playing, (4) Daily-life activity, (5) Walking and cycling, and (6) Recreational activity. 2. Sappurisûpassaya (Association with good persons) comprised six activities: (1) Social interaction, (2) Social service, (3) Association or club membership, (4) Educational activity, (5) Religious and cultural activity and (6) Sight-seeing. 3. Attasammãpanidhi (Right self-establishment) comprised five activities:
(1) Professional training, (2) Musical play, (3) Library service, (4) Leisure-time activity and (5) Occupational activity. 4. Pubbekatapuññatã (Meritorious deeds ever done in the past) consisted of two activities:
(1) Health and hygiene promotion and (2) Knowledge delegation. The test of the developed model with the collected data was found to feature the four virtues of Cakkas that showed the statistical significant difference was at the rate of .05.
