This quality research objectives were: 1) to study the problems of clinical practice of nursing students, 2) to develop a participatory supervision model of preceptors for nursing students who practice in clinical practice and 3) to study the effectiveness of a participatory supervision model. The key informants and the sampling were professional nurses who perform duties as preceptors for nursing students in Pediatric Cardiac Ward, 2 Nursing administrators, including a head ward nurse, In-Patient Department's Supervisor of Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast, and Nursing Students who practiced at the Pediatric Cardiac Ward, 2 groups in Academic year 2016, and 2 groups in Academic year 2017, by purposive sampling. The research tool were document synthesis form, semi-structured questions, Participatory supervision plan for preceptors as supervised nursing students and behavior observation forms. Analysis data by content analysis.
The results showed that: There were 3 phases of supervision model, consisting of 1) before supervision, 2) between supervision and 3) after supervision. The results of using the Preceptor's Participatory Supervision Model were found that Participatory Supervision of Head Nurse, Professional nurse, Operating Nurses, and personnel support team to knowledge exchange, quality of nursing practice, and nursing students were accepted to join as part of the nursing team. The nursing students feel valuable in themselves, working atmosphere of a friendly, and the effectiveness of the model, there are 3 aspects as follows:
21) enhance desirable nursing characteristics, 2) building spiritual as a teacher for mentors, and 3) create a networking of professional nursing education.
