This research aimed to: 1) study the elements for the directional development of private schools’ student care system of Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, 2) Study current and desirable circumstances of the directional development of private schools’ student care system of Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. and 3) develop the directions to operate private schools’ student care system of Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The sample of this study was divided into two groups. The first group consisted of 21 private school directors, 21 heads of private schools’ student care system, and 227 private schools’ counsellors. The populations of the study numbers were 269 in total. The sample of this study was selected by using Krejcie and Morgan’s table and used stratified sampling techniques. The second group of the sample, who was selected for stage 3 of the study, were three directors of the private school which has the operations of private schools’ student care system of Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The data was collected by questionnaires and interviewing as research instruments to analyse the statics and data into percentages, means, standard deviations and priority needs index.
After collecting and analysing the data, the results were as follows;
1. The elements on operating the private schools’ student care system of Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 consisted of 5 elements, namely recognition of individual students, student screening, student support, protection and problem solving, and student referral.
2. The study of current and desirable circumstances of the directional development of private schools’ student care system of Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 showed as follows;
2.1 The current circumstances of the directional development of private schools’ student care system of Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 was at high level overall. When considered on each element, the results were high on every element. The greatest to least were student support, protection and problem solving, recognition of individual students, student referral, and student screening.
2.2 The desirable circumstances of the directional development of private schools’ student care system of Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 was at high level overall. When considered on each element, the results were “constantly” on every element. The greatest to least were student referral, student support, protection and problem solving, recognition of individual students, and student screening.
2.3 The analysis of the standard deviations and priority needs index modified (PNI modified) in the directional development of private schools’ student care system of Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 The greatest to least were student referral, recognition of individual students, student screening, protection and problem solving, and student support.
