The purposes of this research were to study and compare the creative writing ability before and after learning using synectics model supplement with graphic organizers of prathomsuksa 6 students and to study students’ attitude towards learning activities management using synectics model supplement with graphic organizers. The sample consisted of 22 prathomsuksa 6 students at prathomsuksa school, under the Nongbualamphu Primary Education Service Area 2, Nongbualamphu province, in the second semester of the academic year 2019. They were selected by cluster random sampling. The research design was a one group pretest-posttest design. The research instruments included 6 lesson plans, a creative writing ability test and an attitude questionnaire. The experiment lasted 6 weeks, 3 hours a week, or 18 hours for all. The mean, percentage, standard deviation one sample t-test and t-test for dependent samples were used for data analysis.
The findings of this research were as follows:
1. The students’ pretest and posttest mean scores on creative writing ability using project work were 13.64 or 45.46 percent and 22.52 or 75.07 percent respectively. The students’ posttest score was not less than 75 percent and higher than that of the pretest.
2. The students’ attitude towards learning activities management using synectics model supplement with graphic organizers was 4.54 at a very good level. Especially, 3 metaphoric activities such as direct analogy, personal analogy and compress conflict helped students making word understanding or new situation that associated with creative writing. Furthermore, taking metaphoric activities by using table will open the opportunity for students’ free thinking and helped students love learning and happy to learn.
