The purposes of this study was to study the current situation and problems in promoting vocational training for disabled persons through local governments. The population in this study were local governments with municipality and sub district administrative organization status of 7,774 offices. there were 380 samples selected proportionally and used ‘Yamane’s formula’ for calculating the sample size by stratified random sampling. The instruments were collected by using vocational training of disabled persons through local governments questionnaire consists of Close ended questions with rating scale and open ended questions. The data analysis was done by percentage, mean, standard deviation and content analysis.
The results showed that:
1. The current situation, most of the appointment of persons responsible for disabled persons were operations management training in promoting vocational training for disabled persons, Never participation in budget allocation. In promoting vocational training for disabled persons through local governments showed the current situation overall operations were only intermediate. Special Issue on aspects was found in getting promoted career in a sustainable way was the highest level.
2. The problems in promoting vocational training for disabled persons through local governments were found problems with sufficient budget leading to support career for persons with severe disabilities were the highest. Opinions usually speak at a high level and problems of vocational needs of disabilities through local governments information with the lowest average, was at the medium Level.
3. The pedagogical implications of the study on vocational training of disabled persons through local governments were the local governments must recognize the importance of acceptance. Disability awareness was very important for promoting the quality of life. The Importance of clearly define roles and responsibilities in organizations, plan to allocate resources effectively, and collaboration with other organizations for helping to create real opportunities for people with disabilities through local governments were the keys to sustainable success.
