The objective of this research was to explain the relationship between factors and community participation on management and awareness of proper waste disposal management among the residents of Baan Kao Taloh 2 at Nongprue Municipality, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. The study included a sample group of 300 households, and data was collected through a questionnaire that underwent quality checks. The data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including Chi-square and Pearson correlation as inferential statistics.
The research findings indicated that the knowledge regarding solid waste management, community participation, awareness, and knowledge in all three aspects (solid waste management, participation, and awareness), were predominantly at a high level. Opinions regarding the state of the solid waste management problem and community participation were mostly at a moderate level. However, the awareness of proper waste disposal was predominantly at a high level. Statistically significant relations were found between the variables. Occupation showed a significant relation with community participation in solid waste management (p=0.009). Furthermore, it was discovered that knowledge in all three aspects have a negative correlation with community participation in solid waste management and awareness of proper waste disposal. The opinions about the state of the solid waste management problem, while having a positive correlation with community participation (r = 0.165, p = 0.004) and awareness of proper waste disposal (r = 0.192, p = 0.001). Related organizations should prioritize factors such as occupation and opinions regarding the state of the solid waste management problem in the community.
