This research aimed 1) to study current conditions, desirable conditions, and needs of the innovative leadership in small size school for administrators and 2) to study the guidelines to develop the innovative leadership in small size school administrators under the office of Chaiyaphum Primary Education Service Area Office 1. The study was divided into 2 phases: Phase 1; study the current conditions, desirable conditions, and the needs of the innovative leadership in small size school for administrators. The sample group in this research consisted of school administrators and teachers in small size school totaling 226 people. They were selected by Krejcie and Morgan’s method including Stratified random sampling. The research tools using the dual-response format with Reliability value at 0.91 Phase 2; study the guidelines to develop the innovative leadership in small size school for administrators through an evaluation among 5 academic experts selected by purposive sampling. The research instruments in the second phase were a semistructured interview and a questionnaire on appropriateness and feasibility of the guidelines to the innovative leadership in small size school for administrators. The statistics used to analyze the data consisted of the frequency, the percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Modified Priority Needs Index (PNI Modified).
The findings revealed that:
1. The current conditions of the innovative leadership in small size school for administrators under the office of Chaiyaphum Primary Education Service Area Office 1 were overall at the moderate level. The highest aspect was the Innovative personality.
The desirable conditions of the innovative leadership in small size school for administrators were overall at the highest level. The highest aspect was the innovative vision. The first 3 important needs of the innovative leadership in small size school for administrators were the innovative vision aspect the Teamwork and innovative participation and the Innovative personality.
2. The guidelines to develop the innovative leadership in small size school for administrators under the office of Chaiyaphum Primary Education Service Area Office 1 in 5 aspects namely 1) innovative vision 2) innovative teamwork and participation 3) creative and innovative thinking skills 4) innovative personality and 5) innovative role consisted of 23 guidelines. In overall, the mean of appropriateness was 4.71 as the highest level and the mean of feasibility was 4.54 as also the highest level.
