This research aimed to: 1) study forms of 3D animations based on interactive and augmented reality technology to design public relations media regarding astronomy and space; 2) develop interactive 3D animated media regarding astronomy and space; and 3) evaluate the satisfaction of viewers of interactive 3D animated media regarding astronomy and space.
The sample group, which was selected by purposive sampling method, consisted of three experts and 30 users of Roi Et Science and Cultural Center for Education. The research tools included: 1) a questionnaire on the sample group’s needs; 2) interview for in-depth data from experts; 3) evaluation form on media quality by experts; 4) evaluation form of the sample group’s satisfaction; and 5) 3D animated media based on interactive and augmented reality technology. The statistical tools included percentage, mean and standard deviation. The results of the data analysis regarding the experts and 30 samples found that the sample group preferred public relations media in the form of leaflet and 3D animation based on augmented reality technology regarding astronomy and the solar system. The analytical results of the media quality evaluation by the experts found that the mean was (x ̅=4.80) or referring to the highest quality. The analytical results of the satisfaction evaluation found that the mean was (x ̅=4.74) or referring to the highest satisfaction level.
